Zendaya and Tom Holland surprised fans when they were spotted on a recent trip to Cornwall. The Hollywood stars were pictured in the St Austell area as they celebrated Holland's parents' 30th wedding anniversary.
Holland, most famous for playing Spider-Man in the most recent trilogy from the Marvel Universe, later revealed exactly why they were here and where they stayed. During their trip in September, they were spotted at a restaurant in Polkerris where they happily posed for pictures with fans outside a tucked-away café in Par, where the owner had no idea who they were.
During a podcast episode of Dish filmed around Christmas with Nick Grimshaw and Michelin-star chef Angela Hartnett, Holland revealed the now-engaged duo had stayed at an iconic beach house in Porthpean where the movie About Time, starring Rachel McAdams, was filmed.
The sprawling Porthpean House - owned by the Petherick family - sleeps up to 21 people and sits just above the beach. Holland also revealed why they were there - to celebrate his parents' 30th wedding anniversary on September 10, 2024.
He also opened up on his childhood, career and splitting his time between the UK and US, where Zendaya is from, during the episode which saw him eat a Christmas dinner.

The website for the holiday home states: "Sleep with the soothing sound of waves lapping on the shore and potter barefoot through the garden to the beach. With uninterrupted views over the sheltered south coast of Cornwall.
"In the Petherick family for five generations, Porthpean House has a relaxed old-fashioned charm, acres of tranquil gardens just above the beach. The location for the Richard Curtis Film 'About Time'. Sleeps up to 21 people in glorious bedrooms, many overlooking the sea; blissful for relaxed holidays, formal occasions, romantic weddings & family anniversaries."
Helen Woodward, who owns the café in Par where the pair visited, told CornwallLive she had no idea who the world-famous celebs were when they popped in and even asked the Spider-Man: Homecoming stars to move to a different, smaller table. "I didn't have a clue who they were," she said.

The "absolutely lovely" pair came in by themselves for a fried breakfast and only stayed for around 20 minutes she said, with Zendaya ordering American pancakes with maple syrup and a hash brown, while Tom went for the 'Zeppelin' fry-up. "They were just like a regular couple and apparently went to Asda after," she added.
"They came in and I was serving a couple of other customers so I told them to take a seat and they went to sit down. I've only got a small cafe and I've got one big table that I can get about five people at and they went and sat there so I asked if they minded moving to a smaller table, in case I got a group come in.
"Then this other couple said to me 'they are famous you know' and I asked who they were and they told me he was Spider-Man. They were absolutely lovely. They were just a really nice couple. It was just them two."
