Tributes have been paid to a "beloved son" who will be "missed by all". Colin Burt, from St Austell, has been remembered in this week's funeral notices.

In a funeral announcement, it was shared that Colin had passed away peacefully at Treliske Hospital at the age of 54. After news of his death was shared, tributes came flooding in online.

One stated that Colin was "delightful to chat to" and another described him as "a lovely chap".

Colin's funeral announcement reads: "Passed away peacefully on 8th November 2024 at Treliske Hospital, Truro, Colin Richard Burt, aged 54 years of St Austell. Beloved son of Anthony and Hilary, loving brother of Nigel. Colin will be missed by all of his family and friends.

"Funeral service will be held at St Mewan Parish Church on Tuesday 3rd December at 11am, followed by interment in the churchyard.

"Family flowers only, donations, if desired, will be divided between The Stroke Association & British Heart Foundation c/o Paul Bourton Funeral Service, 37-41 Truro Road, St Austell PL25 5JE Tel: 01726 65727 or by retiring collection at the service."

Carole Cleave, a former teacher, paid tribute to Colin online. She wrote: "I taught Colin many years ago at St Stephen-in-Brannel School, a quiet, gentle lad and in adult life I would often see him both at the railway station (when he worked there) or in the town. He was delightful to chat to, always telling me about airshows or aeroplanes. I was so sorry to read this news."

Helen Livermore added: "I will miss you my friend." Jenny Hughes said: "We are very sorry for your loss."

And Linda Brown commented: "So sorry, a lovely chap". "Thinking of you both Hilary and Anthony at this very sad time for you," said Carol Hancock.
