One of Cornwall's youngest breweries is expanding. Mason Brewing Co in Threemilestone, on the edge of Truro, was set up last year by Mike Mason, the former head brewer at The Driftwood Spars and Brewhouse and Kitchen in St Agnes. The beer aficionado has been brewing everything from traditional beers to modern pale ales, IPAS, imperial stouts and everything in between and punters have loved it.
Mike also has a taproom, where the brewery is on full show, which serves at least seven beers as well as local cider, wines and spirits. Now the brewer is recruiting so he can put on even more events and focus on the brewing while the new member of staff can run the taproom.
He said that due to the increasing demand for its on site brews, the brewery is now hiring a part-time bar staff member to help with busy evenings.
The position is ideal for someone with bar experience who has a love for beer, but enjoys working in a less formal and less pressurised setting. With competitive pay and the chance to be part of a growing local business, this is a unique opportunity for anyone passionate about craft beer.

Mike said "It’s been amazing to see our community’s passion for craft beer and how busy the taproom has become since opening. I’m really excited to have someone else join the team – it’s a big step for us. I’m looking forward to seeing what new ideas and energy they’ll bring as we continue to grow the business".
On the job advert on Indeed, he added: "Our taproom is open Thursday to Saturday and we host a range of events such as music events, food vendor pop ups, educational talks, comedy events and private parties. We pride ourselves on the relaxed, warm and welcoming atmosphere we have created and we are now at the point where we need to hire our first staff member to help with the extra demand.
"We expect this year to be a busy one, and need somebody to help out behind the bar for around six hours a week. They will not be fixed hours though it will typically be Friday and/or Saturday evenings to cover our busy periods. Hours will be agreed at least a month in advance though some flexibility would be required in emergencies.
"There is also scope to work extra hours in other areas of the business if desired. As we grow, we will need help with social media, events, product development and brewing."
