Suspects remain at large after six recent burglaries at shops and garages across Cornwall. Two Co-op stores, in Falmouth and St Columb Major, were the latest to have been broken into in recent days.

The store on Fore Street, in St Columb Major, was targeted during the early hours of Wednesday morning (January 22) while the shop on Cliff Road, Falmouth, was burgled around 24 hours later. The suspects fled on both occasions and Devon and Cornwall Police believe the burglaries are linked.

Meanwhile, masked men smashed their way into a Texaco petrol station on Southbourne Road, in St Austell, on Monday morning (January 20). They escaped with cash as well as several thousands of pounds worth of tobacco, cigarettes and vape fluid.

Police officers were also called to Westways Filling Station at Tregaswith, near St Columb Major, at around 5am on Monday, January 6. The force said two burglars broke into the shop and stole cigarettes, tobacco and alcohol. Read the full story and see CCTV video of the raid in progress here.

Finally, on Saturday, January 4, burglars attempted to break into the Spar shop on Tower Road in Newquay. Two suspects then forced entry to a Spar in Quintrell Downs shortly after 3am the following day before fleeing with cigarettes. Read the full story here.

Police appealing for information on burglaries

Investigating officers from Devon and Cornwall Police are continuing to appeal for information on the burglaries. They are urging witnesses or anyone with relevant CCTV footage to get in touch.

On the latest Co-op break-in in Falmouth, the force said: "Two suspects then left the scene and currently remain outstanding. Enquiries are ongoing.

"It is believed this is linked to similar incident in St Columb Major. Anybody with information or relevant CCTV footage is asked to call 101 or visit our website quoting 50250018167."

Police previously said on the previous burglaries: "Officers are investigating the potential link between the incident at the Texaco garage on Southbourne Road in St Austell on 20 January and previous incidents that have been reported to police in recent weeks.

"They are keeping an open mind at this stage and are pursuing all available lines of enquiry. Investigating officers are continuing to appeal for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them. They are specifically calling on residents to check their CCTV and doorbell cameras for any footage which may have captured the suspects in the area."
