As we age, it's often said that we find joy in the mundane. Savvy shopping reporter Samuel Jones admitted that, while he once got excited about an upcoming night out, it is now his home dehumidifier that brings joy to his life. He said: "It sounds exceptionally dull, and it is, but I cannot believe how fantastic the Russell Hobbs 10L dehumidifier has been since I bought it a while ago.

"I’d heard people drone on about how great they are at banishing excess moisture and condensation but was never sure one was worth the investment - they aren’t especially cheap. But after suffering with condensation on the windows over the winter months, and subsequently some mould developing on the blinds, I decided to give one a go. Enter the Russell Hobbs product which I’ve had for over a year now and couldn’t be without.

It's currently available at an excellent price on Amazon £89.00, which is significantly less than Dunelm, where it retails for £129.99. According to the price comparison website CamelCamelCamel, the average cost of this dehumidifier is around £125.35, while a year ago, it was as high as £169.

In fact, over the past few years, it's only rarely been available at a slightly cheaper price than it is now. So, if you're in the market for a reliable dehumidifier, now might be the perfect time to make the leap, reports the Mirror.

Samuel said: "It is simply fantastic at removing the excess moisture in the air, banishing condensation and, in turn, halting any mould from forming. The other task it’s phenomenal at is helping to get clothes dry, especially over the colder months when that task often has to be done inside the house.

"I detest the sight of laundry being draped all over the radiators while running the tumble dryer quickly becomes a sickeningly expensive endeavour. That’s where the dehumidifier has been absolutely game-changing. It works even quicker if you also have the heating on, though it does still work, albeit more slowly, when the temperature is lower.

"The only thing that can be a bit annoying is it isn’t the quietest, and while it does feature a ‘silent’ button, I’d say this only reduces the noise fractionally and definitely doesn’t make the machine silent. I put it on overnight to stop the windows getting covered in condensation and actually quite like the white noise, but if that will bother you then it might be best to explore different options."

Meanwhile, if you're working with a tighter budget, Amazon offers a broad selection of dehumidifiers, including the 2200ML Dehumidifier for Bedroom currently reduced from £69.99 to £62.99 One satisfied customer commented: "Great design and easy to use. Works really well and has helped with damp in my bedroom, Highly recommend!"

One satisfied customer shared: "The dehumidifier works well, looks great, and is not too loud! We are extremely happy with it and the issues we had with mould in the bedroom have gone away since using this product regularly."

That said, one slightly disgruntled buyer pointed out: "Useless, I tested it for three days, and it didn't change the humidity at all."

You can snap up the Russell Hobbs 10L dehumidifier for just £89.00 on Amazon or bag it from Dunelm for £129.99.
