A stretch of the A30 was closed after a crash in Cornwall this morning (Monday, January 27). The road was shut in both directions between Carland Cross and Chiverton Cross.
Devon and Cornwall Police officers were called to the scene of the two-vehicle collision. The road reopened and traffic returned to normal by 12pm.
It happened during a yellow Met Office wind warning which remains in place across the county. Forecasters warned of widespread travel disruption due to the winds. The gusts are expected to hit 70mph in some areas.
National Highways said in a post on X at 10.53am: "The #A30 in #Cornwall is CLOSED westbound between the #A39 at #CarlandCross and the #A390 at #ChivertonCross due to a collision. @dc_police are in attendance and our contractors will be assisting to clear debris."

Police called to crash on A30
Devon and Cornwall Police say: Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the westbound carriageway of the A30 near Marazanvose at around 10.15am today, Monday 27 January.
"Emergency services are at the scene. Minor injuries have been reported.
"The road has been closed in both directions to allow for the vehicles to be recovered. The incident is ongoing."
