A stretch of the A30 Eastern Green was closed after a crash near Penzance during the early hours of today (Friday, January 31). The road was shut in both directions after the collision which involved a motorbike.
Drivers were diverted around the closure via Jelbert Way. The road reopened and traffic returned to normal by 12pm.

Biker dies in crash
A man has died of serious injuries after a crash in Penzance. Emergency services rushed to the collision, involving a motorbike on the A30 at Eastern Green, at around 2.35am on today (Friday, January 31).
The road was closed throughout this morning while Devon and Cornwall Police were in attendance. The biker, a 36-year-old man sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed, the police force said.

Devon and Cornwall Police say: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A30 at Eastern Green, Penzance, involving a motorbike, after receiving a call at around 2.35am.
"One person has sustained serious injuries. Local road closures have been put in place and are likely to remain so for some time. The incident is ongoing."
