Diversions are in place after a serious crash on a major A-road in Cornwall this afternoon, Wednesday, January 22. National Highways have closed the A38 eastbound near Liskeard following a crash involving a motorbike and a cyclist.
National Highways has said: "The #A38 eastbound is closed between the # A390 (#Liskeard) and #A374 (#Trerulefoot) due to a serious collision. Emergency services are on scene. Please allow extra journey time if in the area this afternoon."
Road users are advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol on road signs if heading eastbound:
- Exit the A38 and follow the A390 passing through Merrymeet, St Ives to Callington.
- At the A390/A388 roundabout take the third exit and follow the A388 to Carkeel.
- Re-join the A38
Emergency services are currently at the scene between the the A390 Liskeard and A374 Trerulefoot. A motorbike and a cyclist were involved in the crash. One person has been injured but the extent of their injuries is not known at this time.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a motorcycle and bicycle on eastbound carriageway of the A38 near Liskeard at around 12pm today, Wednesday 22 January.
"Officers are at the scene. One person has been reported as injured, but the extent of any injuries is not known at this time.
"The eastbound carriageway has been closed and is likely to remain so for some time. Motorists are advised to avoid the area."
