A person suffered serious injuries in a crash near Penzance during the early hours of this morning (Friday, January 31). Emergency services were called to the collision on the A30 Eastern Green at around 2.35am.
Police said the crash involved a motorbike. At the time of writing (8am), the road remains closed in both directions and the force have warned that the closure is expected to remain for some time.
According to traffic monitoring site Inrix, vehicles are being diverted around the closure via Jelbert Way. Motorists should leave extra time for their journeys in the area this morning.
Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Emergency services are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on the A30 at Eastern Green, Penzance, involving a motorbike, after receiving a call at around 2.35am.
"One person has sustained serious injuries. Local road closures have been put in place and are likely to remain so for some time. The incident is ongoing."
Inrix added: "A30 Eastern Green in both directions closed due to accident investigation work between Branwell Lane roundabout and Jelbert Way / Morrisons (Chy-An-Mor roundabout). Diversion - via Jelbert Way."
