Diversion routes are in place after a serious crash on the A30 this afternoon. According to reports, two vehicles, including a bus, were involved in the collision between the A395 KennardsHouse and the A389 Bodmin, and the A30 has been closed westbound while emergency services are at the scene.
The crash was first reported by traffic monitor Inrix at around 4.30pm today (Friday, January 31). Delays are building in the area as rush hour traffic sets off this afternoon.
National Highways has described the crash as 'serious'. It said: "The A30 in Cornwall is closed westbound between the A395 (near Launceston) and the A389 at Bodmin due to a serious collision."
Motorists should expect delays and queues in the area. National Highways is diverting drivers around the closure via the A395 and A388:
Westbound diverted traffic is advised to follow the solid square diversion symbol:
- Exit the A30 westbound at the A395 junction (Kennard's House)
- Return on the A30 eastbound towards Launceston
- Exit at the A388 junction at Launceston and take the A388 southbound
- Continue on the A388 southbound towards Saltash
- At the Carkeel Roundabout, turn right and join the A38 westbound
- Continue on the A38 westbound past Liskeard towards Bodmin
- Re-join the A34 westbound at Bodmin just after Turfdown Roundabout
